DIY Painted Mason Jar with “Pop Blossoms”

Have you ever painted mason jars? If not, you have to give it a try! It’s a great way to get creative. 


Painted mason jars make for some gorgeous home decor. They can be used as a holder for straws, pencils, pens, flowers, and it also makes a beautiful gift. We have so many of these displayed in our home!


What you need:

  • Mason jar
  • Paint
  • Alcohol
  • Modge podge
  • Paint brushes
  • Cotton pads

How to:

  1. Using alcohol and a cotton pad, clean your mason jar
  2. Paint your mason jar
  3. Once done painting, let the paint dry completely
  4. Now that your paint is dry, give your mason jar two to three coats of modge podge
  5. Let dry

We also made DIY flowers using bottle caps to put in our mason jars. I love these flowers and they always make me smile! Our youngest made these :)


What you need:

  • Bottle caps (4 for each flower)
  • Paint
  • Glue gun
  • Straws
  • Paintbrushes
  • Pom poms

How to:

  1. Paint bottle caps
  2. Once paint is dry, glue 4 bottle caps together (kind of in a square shape)
  3. Glue pom pom in the middle of the bottle caps
  4. Glue straw to the back of the bottle caps
  5. Glue straw to the back of the bottle caps
  6. Place in your painted mason jar!
